How to Knit a Baby Blanket Using the Braid Knitting Technique

4 Easy Steps to Make Your Own Puffy Blanket
Step 1: Choose Blanket Width
The finished blanket width will be the same as the loop thread that you start knitting with. For a blanket with a width of 80 cm, count 50 loops and start with the 51st loop.
Step 2: First Row
Start knitting from right to left using a simple knit stitch for the entire row.
Step 3: Second Row
To create the braid effect, start working from left to right. Cross the first two stitches so the right stitch is over the left one. Knit them, then repeat this with the remaining stitches.
Repeat steps 1 and 2 until your blanket reaches the desired length.
Step 4: Bind-off
Once you finish the row with crossed stitches, bind off by passing the second stitch through the first one from left to right.
